Jake Paul easily routs lethargic, disinterested Chavez Jr.
After victory, once again says goal is to win a cruiserweight world title

For the first eight rounds, Jake Paul may have gotten a better fight from a heavy bag, because Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who was more than a decade past his prime and around 40 pounds heavier, did absolutely nothing, including not land a single punch in the first round.
Chavez perked up a bit for the ninth and 10th rounds but it was far too little, far too late as Paul cruised to a lopsided decision win in their cruiserweight bout that headlined an MVP/Golden Boy DAZN PPV card on Saturday night at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Paul won 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93, disappointing a heavily Mexican crowd there for Chavez, the son of the all-time Mexican great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., who was ringside and could only watch his son sleepwalk for most of the fight. Fight Freaks Unite also had it 98-92 for Paul, the social media influencer and YouTuber turned boxer, who likely will land in some of the sanctioning body cruiserweight rankings off this win.
“I just beat your boy’s ass. Easy work,” Paul said to the booing crowd in the ring after the bout. “Year five (of boxing). Wait ‘til I get going even more, motherfuckers.”
