Heavyweight up-and-comer Jared Anderson beat, battered and bludgeoned Andriy Rudenko with a withering body attack in a one-sided fifth-round knockout in the main event of the Top Rank Boxing on ESPN card on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Anderson, who came to the ring dressed in a Batman costume to the theme music of the 1960s television series, looked more like Superman as he beat up Rudenko for virtually every second of the fight.
It was a strong performance for Anderson against an opponent known for his durability. Anderson was getting right back to work just two months after showing vulnerability when he was rocked in the fifth round by former world titleholder Charles Martin on July 1 in a Toledo, Ohio, homecoming fight in which he did drop Martin and won by lopsided decision.
Friday was my birthday! A great present would be for you to upgrade to a paid subscription for full access to all posts and comments — and to support independent journalism
