For years, junior welterweight contender Arnold Barboza Jr. wanted to fight former unified titlist Jose Ramirez.
He finally got his wish and made the most of it in a close but clear unanimous decision victory in the co-feature of Golden Boy’s Riyadh Season “Latino Night” card headlined by the Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez-Chris Billam-Smith cruiserweight unification fight on Saturday at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
There was little drama and not much action but Barboza won the fight 97-93, 96-94 and 96-94 for the biggest victory of his 11-year career.
I am in my 25th year of full-time boxing coverage. Take advantage of that experience by upgrading to a paid subscription to read the rest of this post and for full access to all posts and comments — and also support independent journalism.
