The light heavyweight unification fight between lineal and three-belt champion Artur Beterbiev and WBA titleholder Dmitry Bivol is being planned for June 1 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, sources involved in the planning told Fight Freaks Unite.
The match, one of the most attractive potential bouts in boxing, would pit the undefeated, pound-for-pound ranked fighters in a career-defining showdown that would produce the first-ever four-belt undisputed champion at 175 pounds, assuming all four organizations agree to sanction the fight.
While those involved expect the fight to be finalized it has not been determined whether it will be shown as a pay-per-view or non-PPV. In the United States, it would likely be on an ESPN platform, which is Beterbiev’s broadcaster because he is promoted by its partner Top Rank, one of the sources said.
