A note to Fight Freaks Unite readers: I created Fight Freaks Unite in January 2021 and eight months later it also became available for paid subscriptions for additional content — and as a way to help keep this newsletter going and for readers to support independent journalism. If you haven’t upgraded to a paid subscription please consider it. If you have already, I truly appreciate it! Also, consider a gift subscription for the Fight Freak in your life.

Since the previous update in November there have been more than 30 changes: titles changing hands, belts being relinquished or stripped and interim titles being created and eliminated. Among the changes: Sebastian Fundora outpointed Tim Tszyu to win the WBO/vacant WBC junior middleweight titles; Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez outpointed Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA cruiserweight title; Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz stopped Rolly Romero for the WBA junior welterweight title; Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez unified the WBO/IBF flyweight titles and vacated both; Raymond Ford dramatically stopped Otabek Kholmatov for the vacant WBA featherweight title; Jermell Charlo, the undisputed junior middleweight champion, was left with no sanctioning body belts due to vacating and being stripped; Naoya Inoue knocked out Marlon Tapales to become the undisputed junior featherweight champion; Rafael Espinoza dramatically outpointed Robeisy Ramirez to win the WBO featherweight title; Devin Haney vacated the undisputed lightweight title and routed Regis Prograis to take the WBC junior welterweight title; and more.

Here is your complete guide to every titleholder among the four major sanctioning bodies.
