Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez has been a bankable pay-per-view star for years and he continued to flex his commercial muscle in his near-shutout decision win to retain the title against undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Alvarez-Charlo, which headlined a Premier Boxing Champions card on Showtime PPV, clocked in as the second-highest selling boxing pay-per-view card of the year so far in the United States.
