Ryan Garcia’s B samples, which were opened on Wednesday, both were positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug Ostarine when the results were returned on Thursday, just as his A samples were in relation to his majority decision win over WBC junior welterweight titlist Devin Haney in their high-profile pay-per-view main event on April 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Garcia had previously failed tests for Ostarine in urine samples given to the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association for the testing program he and Haney signed up for. Garcia failed a test on April 19 and another on fight day, April 20, although those results did come back until after the bout.
Like the A samples, Garcia’s B samples were analyzed at the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory (SMRTL) in South Jordan, Utah.
