The Canelo Alvarez-Dmitry Bivol fight is in the books with Bivol, the 5-1 underdog, pulling the upset with a masterful performance on Saturday night as he took down the pound-for-pound king to retain his light heavyweight title at T-Mobile Arena.
The result shook up the boxing world and left Alvarez’s immediate future in doubt, as in will he opt for his right to an immediate rematch or will he still look to go forward with an undisputed super middleweight title defense against Gennadiy Golovkin on Sept. 17?
And why did Canelo lose for the first time in nine years and what did Bivol do so effectively to win? There was a lot to discuss and TJ Rives of Big Fight Weekend and I hashed it out on the newest episode of the Fight Freaks Unite podcast.

Good morning Dan
I would love to hear your take on the new P4P rankings. Does Canelo stay number #1? How does the win effect Bivol’s standing?
Great podcast
Excellent podcast - thanks.
