I met Elbaum in Vegas in the early 90's and he was as "boxing" as it gets. From the way he looked, talked and even stood, the guy told the story of the Sweet Science, if the seedier, cut-throat version (which pretty much is boxing). But he presented it all with some charm. The characters of the sport are being replaced by actors more frequently, but the history of boxing is more popular than the current state, and Elbaum is an important part of that history. Rest easy, Don.

"As a pro, he claimed he was 6-3-1 with no knockouts between 1960 and 1971. Boxrec lists him as 0-3-1." - lol, love it
