Jake Paul bounced back from his first loss by defeating another MMA fighter in a boxing match, this time winning a lopsided decision against Nate Diaz in an action-packed cruiserweight fight in the DAZN PPV main event on Saturday night before a sold-out at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Paul, who dropped longtime UFC star Diaz in the fifth round, won the fight contracted at 185 pounds 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92. Fight Freaks Unite had Paul winning 98-90, awarding him 10-8 rounds in the overwhelmingly lopsided first round (even though it did not include a knockdown) and the knockdown round.

“He’s real tough,” Paul said. “That’s what he’s known for, but tough in this sport doesn’t work. I knocked him down, won basically every round. I think he won one round. But he’s a warrior. I had him hurt in the first round; he kept on coming.”

Paul (7-1, 4 KOs), 26, of Cleveland, rebounded from an eight-round split decision loss to Tommy Fury, the half brother of lineal/WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, in February in Saudi Arabia.
