Jermall Charlo, Stephen Fulton headed to Australia for fights
Former titleholders added to Spence-Tszyu PPV undercard

Former two-division titleholders Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton are headed Down Under to fight on the Errol Spence Jr.-Tim Tszyu undercard, making the top three bouts of the PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view card the United States versus Australia battles, PBC announced on Thursday.
The card will take place on July 25 in U.S. prime time and on the afternoon of July 26 at Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Former middleweight and junior middleweight titlist Charlo, whose personal issues and mental health problems have limited him to just two fights since 2021, will fight for the first time in 14 months when he squares off with Koen Mazoudier in a 10-round super middleweight fight.
Former featherweight and unified junior featherweight titleholder Fulton will face former title challenger Liam Wilson in a 12-round junior lightweight fight.

Charlo (34-0, 23 KOs), 36, of Houston, did not fight in 2022 and then won a 10-round decision over much smaller Jose Benavidez Jr., a career welterweight and junior welterweight, in a super middleweight bout in November 2023 on the David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade card.
After not boxing at all in 2024, Charlo scored a sixth-round knockout of massively overmatched and smaller Thomas LaManna in May 2025. The fight was on the same card as Caleb Plant’s WBA interim super middleweight title defense against Armando Resendiz. PBC’s plan was to match bad-blood rivals Plant and Charlo with each other in a pay-per-view headliner in late 2025 as long as they both won.
While Charlo took care of business with LaManna, Resendiz won a well-deserved split decision in the 2025 Fight Freaks Unite upset of the year to ruin the plans, and Charlo has not fought since.
“It feels great to be back in the ring and to take my talents Down Under to Australia,” Charlo said. “Koen Mazoudier is going to be looking to make a name off me, but he underestimates how hungry I am. These guys ain’t seen nothing like this. It’s the USA versus Australia and Jermall Charlo is coming to take over. Lock in with me on July 25 and watch me put on a show.”
Mazoudier (15-4-1, 6 KOs), 30, will take a dramatic step up in competition and move up two weight classes from junior middleweight to face Charlo. Mazoudier has won three fights in a row since a ninth-round knockout loss to Nikita Tszyu, Tim’s younger brother, in a junior middleweight bout.
“I know I’m the underdog,” Mazoudier said. “Everyone knows I’m the underdog. I don’t care. I’m coming to spoil the party and dethrone a legend. I’ve never taken a backward step in my life, and I’m sure as hell not starting. I’m going to bring everything I’ve got to get the result. I’m the real life Rocky.”
Fulton (23-2, 8 KOs), 31, of Philadelphia, is coming off a dreadful showing in a one-sided decision loss to O’Shaquie Foster for the vacant WBC interim lightweight title in December in the Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz-Lamont Roach Jr. co-feature.
Fulton was supposed to challenge Foster for his WBC junior lightweight belt but when Fulton missed weight by two pounds, the WBC agreed to allow the bout to be for the interim belt at lightweight.
Foster quickly vacated the interim belt to return to junior lightweight and retain that title while Fulton vacated his featherweight title.
“I expect Liam to be on his A-game and take this fight as an opportunity to get a shot at the title,” Fulton said. “This fight is to show that I am nowhere near finished and to redeem myself after my last performance. I let my fans and peers down in my last fight, as well as myself, so this is me coming back out strong.”
Wilson (18-3, 10 KOs), 30, an all-action fighter, has won five fights in a row since a seventh-round knockout loss to former two-division titleholder Oscar Valdez for the vacant WBC junior lightweight belt in March 2024. In February 2023, Wilson lost his other high-profile fight by ninth-round knockout to Emanuel Navarrete, who he knocked down in the fourth round, for the vacant WBC junior lightweight title.
“Fulton has been a champion in two divisions. I respect that,” Wilson said. “But I’m ‘Mr. Damage’ — I don’t do easy nights and I don’t do backward steps. He’s going to find that out.”
In the opening bout of the pay-per-view, middleweight prospect Callum Peters (7-0, 6 KOs), 23, who was a 2024 Australian Olympian, will face an opponent to be determined in a 10-rounder.
