Taking on the best opponent of his career, by far, Richardson Hitchins showed he more than belongs among the contenders at junior welterweight.
There was not much excitement, and no drama either, but that was because Hitchins utterly toyed with and outclassed longtime contender and three-time world title challenger Jose Zepeda en route to a one-sided decision on Saturday night in the Matchroom Boxing main event on DAZN at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Two judges scored it a 120-108 shutout for Hitchins and the third judge somehow managed to find a round to give to Zepeda and had it 119-109. Fight Freaks Unite also had it 120-108 for Hitchins, who retained two regional belts and claimed a vacant third as he continued to position himself in the sanctioning body rankings.
