Maybe Lopez is being sincere but we all know he's not really retired
Plus tons of random thoughts: Real robberies, not a fake one like Haney-Loma; what Fury should do next; HOF show stealer; Canelo's misguided plans; ode to Munguia-Derevyanchenko; much more

Random boxing thoughts galore…
Teofimo Lopez appeared on Max Kellerman’s ESPN show on Monday and announced his retirement from boxing at age 25 after having won the lineal/WBO junior welterweight title from Josh Taylor in a tremendous performance on Saturday night.
He also said during a media scrum at ringside that he going to retire because he was not being paid enough after making around $2.3 million for the fight.
The notion that Lopez is legitimately retired is so freaking laughable I don’t even know where to begin.
Lopez, now a two-division lineal champion — he was previously the man at lightweight — is an emotional sort and he said after the fight that he didn’t want to think about what his next boxing match would be because he is in the midst of a divorce and a bitter custody battle with his soon-to-be ex-wife over their toddler son. Obviously, getting trough that is more important than plans for another boxing event. So, will Lopez take a break? Sure. That is understandable. But does anyone believe he is actually retired? No.
