David Benavidez and David Morrell did not mince words from the dais on Tuesday at the kickoff news conference in Los Angeles for their 50-50 light heavyweight showdown.
There was tough talk, boasts, threats and knockout promises about what would happen when they square off with Benavidez’s WBC interim belt and Morrell’s WBA “regular” title at stake on Feb. 1 (Prime Video PPV, PPV.COM, 8 p.m. ET) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in the first Premier Boxing Champions pay-per-view of 2025.
Benavidez and Morrell had already gotten into a lather when they had words backstage during the commercial shoot prior to the start of the formal news conference and it spilled over to the podium.
