Former undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev is moving on, at least for now, from next facing unified champion Dmitry Bivol in a tie-breaking trilogy fight.
Beterbiev will face Deon Nicholson on the undercard of Turki Alalshikh’s Ring magazine event scheduled for Nov. 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where WBC light heavyweight titlist David Benavidez will headline in a defense against perennial contender Anthony Yarde.
Alalshikh announced the change of plans through his Ring magazine but offered no details about the reason.
In October, Beterbiev won a majority decision over Bivol to unify the four major belts and become the first four-belt light heavyweight champion and the first undisputed champion in the division in 25 years, since Roy Jones Jr. did it in 1999.
