Heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez is dealing with inflammation in his surgically repaired knee, which forced him on Wednesday to postpone his IBF title eliminator against Richard Torrez Jr.
The bout was scheduled as the co-feature on the PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view card headlined by WBC junior middleweight titlist Sebastian Fundora’s defense against former unified welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman on March 28 (8 p.m. ET) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Sources involved told Fight Freaks Unite that plans are for the bout to be rescheduled on a May 30 PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view card at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, that is in the works to be headlined by a welterweight unification bout between WBO titlist Devin Haney and WBA titleholder Rolando Romero, although that but is not yet finalized.
