Former two-time heavyweight titleholder Hasim Rahman, who is 53 and been retired since 2014, is planning a comeback.
Seriously.
Rahman will be front and center at a news conference scheduled for Wednesday in Rochester, New York, to announce “the onset of his quest to become the oldest heavyweight champion,” a record long held by George Foreman, who was 45 when he regained the title by knocking out Michael Moorer in 1994.
Rahman, whose opponent is not yet set, will headline a J Payne Promotions card on July 14 at Rochester’s ESL Ballpark, the home stadium of the minor league Rochester Red Wings, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
