The undercard for WBA lightweight titlist Gervonta Davis’ defense against WBA junior lightweight titleholder Lamont Roach Jr. has not been formally announced, and even the main event has yet to get the press release or news conference treatment despite both fighters and Premier Boxing Champions posting about the bout on social media.
Nonetheless, the undercard is rounding into shape for the Dec. 14 card (Prime Video PPV, PPV.COM) at the Toyota Center in Houston.
Brandon Figueroa will defend the WBC interim featherweight title in a rematch against Stephen Fulton Jr. in the co-feature, sources with knowledge of that bout and others ticketed for the card (details further down in this notebook), told Fight Freaks Unite.
Figueroa has wanted a rematch with Fulton since losing to him by hotly contested majority decision in an all-action fight to unify the WBC and WBO junior featherweight titles in November 2021.
I am in my 25th year of full-time boxing coverage. Take advantage of that experience by upgrading to a paid subscription to read the rest of this post and for full access to all posts and comments — and also support independent journalism.
