It will have been 14 long months since Stephen Fulton has had a fight and the former unified junior featherweight titleholder is anxious to get crackin’ again.

“Cool Boy Steph” is moving up to featherweight for his return against Carlos Castro in a 10-rounder that will take place in a preliminary bout on the undercard of unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez’s defense against Edgar Berlanga on Sept. 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

While Fulton-Castro will not be part of the Premier Boxing Champions on Prime Video pay-per-view, it will be one of the three preliminary bouts that will stream for free on Prime Video prior to the start of the PPV at 8 p.m. ET.

“It’s gonna be really good to get back in the ring. I’m ready to show everyone a different Stephen Fulton Jr. on Sept. 14,” Fulton said at a recent media workout.

He has been quite frustrated by the long wait to get back into the ring since he traveled to Tokyo in July 2023 for a career-high payday to defend the unified WBC/WBO junior featherweight title against Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue, who had vacated the undisputed bantamweight title to move to up 122 pounds and challenge Fulton.
