The WBC are nothing if not predictable. Saying that Valdez has been negative in drug tests prior to this offence is totally irrelevant in a sport that has always had ineffective drug testing protocols.

In fact the whole WBC decision is totally pathetic, it appears to be a case of "how many excuses can we think up to be lenient on Valdez?" and confirms that the WBC simply doesn't take drug use in boxing seriously.

If boxers are not meaningfully punished for taking drugs on the VADA banned list then what is the point in using VADA and what is the point in the so-called "clean boxing program"?

After this kop-out of a decision I hope more boxing fans are now convinced that the WBC CBP is a sham.

Zapata dies in the ring...... is there more that could be done to protect fighters ? There is drug testing to keep any type of advantage to a fighter as the results can be deadly. So there is that.... Fig-Fulton card could be interesting as could the Shobox new gen is always nice to watch even if the fights dont go far the crew calling the fight are always solid and laid back .......Trilla eh chasing after money owed is never a fun thing good luck on that one..... Enjoy the fights this weekend people bout time something got put up.
