LAS VEGAS — Anthony Olascuaga impressively retained the WBO flyweight title for the third time with a second-round shellacking of mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Camacho on Thursday night at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

The fight, put on as part of the fight week activities for the Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford mega fight on Saturday, headlined the kickoff edition of Turki Alalshikh’s Ring magazine “The Underdog” series on DAZN, which will go monthly beginning in January.

Olascuaga (10-1, 7 KOs), 26, of Los Angeles, who had his previous five fights in Japan on Teiken Promotions cards, fought his first title bout in the Untied States and turned in a strong showing in the one-sided demolition of Camacho (19-2, 8 KOs), 28, of Puerto Rico.

He took it to Camacho from the outset, forced him to the ropes, made him cover up and fired punch after punch.

In the second round, he did more of the same, landing many clean shots. Camacho threw back sparingly but eventually, as he took more and punches while languishing on the ropes, referee Harvey Dock stepped in and waved off the fight at 2 minutes, 36 seconds.
