Although a rematch between WBA lightweight titlist Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Lamont Roach Jr. is still in the works, it will not take place on June 21, the date initially penciled in for the fight but not officially announced, sources with knowledge of the plans told Fight Freaks Unite.

Premier Boxing Champions was making plans stage the event on June 21 and requested the date from the Nevada State Athletic Commission to put on a pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, sources said that while the fight will still take place it will be later in the summer, either July or August.

No specific reason for the delay was given but PBC is working to situate a summer schedule that also could include fights such as Tim Tszyu-Keith Thurman in a junior middleweight showdown and unified junior middleweight titlist Sebastian Fundora against mandatory challenger Xander Zayas. PBC has been in discussions with Zayas promoter Top Rank.
