In a sloppy but tremendously action-packed fight, former heavyweight title challenger Dillian Whyte stopped Ebenezer Tetteh, who retired on his stool after the seventh round on Sunday on DAZN at Europa Point Stadium in Gibraltar.
Whyte, not what he was at his best as a top contender, nonetheless won his third fight in a row since then-champion Tyson Fury knocked him out in the sixth round of their April 2022 championship bout.
Whyte, who was dropped from an August 2023 rematch with Anthony Joshua due to a failed Voluntary Anti-Doping Association random drug test and did not fight at all that year, and Tetteh spent virtually the entire fight slinging wild and heavy shots at each other. Whyte, however, by far got the better of the exchange in every round.
The slow and lumbering Tetteh showed much more durability and toughness than he did in his only other loss, a first-round KO to Daniel Dubois in 2019.
