Jake Paul scored three knockdowns in a bloody one-sided and highly entertaining sixth-round knockout of bare knuckle champion Mike Perry in a cruiserweight boxing match on Saturday night that preserved his rescheduled fight with legendary former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Paul and the 58-year-old Tyson, who was set to exit a nearly 20-year retirement for an eight-rounder, were supposed to be fighting each other in heavily hyped collision of generations on Saturday night on Netflix at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
But when Tyson suffered a flare up of an ulcer in early June and had to postpone the fight until Nov. 15, Paul sought to maintain his date and quickly came to terms with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship star Perry, the “King of Violence,” for them to meet in the main event of a Most Valuable Promotions card on DAZN PPV at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Perry was game as could be but took a shellacking from Paul, the immensely popular social media influencer and YouTuber, who has dedicated himself to boxing for the past five years.
