The weekend features three notable cards and we previewed and discussed them. There is welterweight contender Alexis Roach headlining a Golden Boy DAZN card on Friday night; WBC bantamweight titlist Junto Nakatani defending in the main event of an ESPN+ card early Saturday U.S. time; and Jake Paul fighting Mike Perry in the main event of a DAZN PPV card Saturday night. There is also plenty of news, nostalgia and a celebration of Canelo Alvarez’s birthday.
Here is what’s on the show (in order):
Preview of Rocha’s fight against unbeaten Santiago Dominguez.
Previews of Nakatani’s defense against Vincent Astrolabio; Kosei Tanaka’s WBO junior bantamweight title defense against Jonathan “Titan” Rodriguez; Riku Kano and Anthony Olascuaga vying for the vacant WBO flyweight belt; and Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa continuing his pursuit as a boxer in a bantamweight fight against Jonathan “Torres” Rodriguez.
Preview of Paul’s cruiserweight fight against bare knuckle star Perry as well as undercard bouts, including Amanda Serrano’s junior welterweight fight versus Stevie Morgan and the return of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. from a 2 1/2-year layoff for a cruiserweight bout against former UFC fighter Uriah Hall.
TJ’s brief interview with MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian on site in Tampa at the Paul-Perry event.
