On this week’s weekend podcast (in order):
A little bit on the Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua kickoff news conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The announcement of the Andy Ruiz Jr.-Luis Ortiz heavyweight fight that will headline a PBC on Fox PPV card on Sept. 4 with thoughts on the fight and the undercard, which will include Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and the return of Abner Mares after more than four out of the ring.
Jake Paul’s return to face his first-ever boxer in Tommy Fury and Amanda Serrano’s unified women’s featherweight title defense in the co-feature of the Showtime PPV on Aug. 6 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
An in-depth preview of Matchroom Boxing’s card on DAZN on Saturday night headlined by WBC junior bantamweight titlist Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez making his first defense in his hometown of San Antonio against former champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
We also discuss the two other title fights on the Matchroom card as well, unified junior featherweight titlist Murodjon Akhmadaliev’s mandatory defense against Ronny Rios and undisputed women’s welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill’s defense against Alma Ibarra. In addition, a bit on flyweight titlist Julio Cesar Martinez pulling out of his rematch this week with interim titlist McWilliams Arroyo.
We finish off with some thoughts on my love for San Antonio, which is hosting Saturday’s card.
