Podcast: Previewing Saturday's Bam, Shakur and Fundora cards
Plus: Thoughts on Usyk-Dubois order, Davis-Garcia PPV undercard, Khan's drug ban; anniversary of legendary Leonard-Hagler fight

It will be a busy Saturday night for boxing with three simultaneous cards: Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez moving down to flyweight to face Cristian Gonzalez for the vacant WBO title on DAZN; Shakur Stevenson moving up to lightweight to fight Shuichiro Yoshino in a WBC title eliminator on ESPN; and Sebastian Fundora facing Brian Mendoza in a WBC interim junior middleweight title defense on Showtime. We previewed and gave our views on all three cards. We also went over some news of the week and shared memories on the anniversary of Sugar Ray Leonard-Marvelous Marvin Hagler, one of the biggest fights in boxing history.
Here is what’s on the show (in order):
Previewing Rodriguez-Gonzalez: Will a Rodriguez win lead to a unification fight with promotional stablemates Sunny Edwards or Julio Cesar Martinez? Also previewing the co-feature, unified junior featherweight titlist Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. mandatory challenger Marlon Tapales.
Previewing Stevenson-Yoshino: Easy fight for Stevenson? If he wins will he go right into a mandatory title fight against the Devin Haney-Vasiliy Lomachenko winner? Plus a look at the elite prospects in the two other TV fights, heavyweight Jared Anderson and lightweight Keyshawn Davis, who are the past two Fight Freaks Unite prospects of the year and face solid opponents.
Previewing Fundora-Mendoza: Thoughts on the bout and Fundora being blocked from a real title fight for now because the title is fully unified and another mandatory challenger is ahead of him. We also looked at the co-feature of Brandun Lee against Pedro Campa and why it’s such a disappointing match.
The WBA’s official order to unified heavyweight titlist Oleksandr Usyk to next make a mandatory against Daniel Dubois and what’s the next step and when would it likely happen?
The announcement of the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia Showtime PPV undercard and thoughts on those three fights: David Morrell defending his WBA “regular” super middleweight belt against Sena Agbeko and will he get David Benavidez next if he wins; a rematch between super middleweight Gabriel Rosado and Bektemir Melikuziev; and middleweight prospect Elijah Garcia vs. Kevin Salgado.
Thoughts on the positive drug test and two-year ban of Amir Khan and the absurdity of it taking 14 months for UKAD to complete the case.
Memories on the 36th anniversary of Leonard’s massive upset win over Hagler to win the middleweight title in a mega event.
