There are two notable fights on Saturday night and we previewed and discussed both: Serhii Bohachuk’s WBC interim junior middleweight title defense against Vergil Ortiz Jr. in the main event of the Golden Boy card on DAZN in Las Vegas and Luis Alberto Lopez’s IBF featherweight title defense against hometown challenger Angelo Leo in the main event of the Top Rank card on ESPN in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There is also plenty of news of the week and two fights anniversaries.
Here is what’s on the show (in order):
The disappointment of Team USA’s boxing performance at the Paris Olympics.
Preview of Bohachuk-Ortiz: Why it shapes up as a good fight and what could be in store for the winner in the crowded junior middleweight division. Plus a look at undercard fights involving junior middleweight contender Charles Conwell and junior welterweight contender Kenneth Sims Jr.
Preview of Lopez-Leo: Lopez continuing to be a road warrior and how the fight shapes up.
The heated back and forth between Canelo Alvarez and Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh over the prospect of a Canelo-Terence Crawford fight.
