We recapped and discussed the PBC on Prime Video card that included Armando Resendiz’s huge upset of Caleb Plant, as well as other notable bouts from the weekend. We also covered the biggest news of the week, including the untimely death of Hall of Famer Mike McCallum, and looked back on the anniversary of one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight title history. • Recap of super middleweight Resendiz’s well-earned split decision over Plant on Saturday night to win the WBA interim belt and likely wreck plans for a fall fight between Plant and Jermall Charlo, whose return in the co-feature we also went over as he destroyed overmatched Thomas LaManna in six one-sided rounds.

• Recap of the undercard, which included middleweight Yoenli Hernandez’s impressive shutout of Kyrone Davis and junior middleweight Isaac Lucero’s second-round knockout of unbeaten Omar Valenzuela.

• Recap of Bektemir Melikuziev’s close decision over Darius Fulghum in an all-out slugfest and WBA super middleweight eliminator in the Golden Boy DAZN main event Friday night in Las Vegas.

• Recap of light heavyweight Khalil Coe’s sixth-round stoppage of Manuel Gallegos to avenge a knockout loss in the headliner of the Matchroom Boxing card on DAZN on Friday night in Guadalajara, Mexico. We also discussed junior featherweight contender Murodjon Akhmadaliev’s eighth-round knockout of Luis Castillo on the undercard to cement a Sept. 14 shot at undisputed champion Naoya Inoue.

• My reporting that thanks to Teofimo Lopez’s apology to Turki Alalshikh for his insulting social media posts his fight with Devin Haney is back on track for Aug. 16 in Riyadh.

• The official announcement of Manny Pacquiao’s return to fight WBC welterweight titlist Mario Barrios and the rest of the pay-per-view undercard.

• The death on Saturday of all-time great three-division champion McCallum and a discussion of his career and place in boxing history.
