Plus: News updates on Naoya Inoue and Tyson Fury
A note to Fight Freaks Unite readers: I created Fight Freaks Unite in January 2021 but last week marked one year since it also became available for paid subscriptions for additional content — and as a way to help keep this newsletter going and for readers to support independent journalism. If you haven’t upgraded to a paid subscription please consider it. If you have already, I truly appreciate it! Also, consider a gift subscription for the Fight Freak in your life.
Welcome to the Fight Freaks Unite recap podcast coming off a weekend that had just one notable card, the Top Rank show headlined by the Jose Pedraza-Richard Commey junior welterweight fight.
Here’s what we discussed on this episode (in order):
Thoughts on the undisputed bantamweight championship fight between three-belt champion Naoya Inoue and titleholder Paul Butler that is close to being finalized for Dec. 13.
The latest on discussions for a Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk undisputed heavyweight title fight, when and where it might take place and why it might be easier to make than your typical mega fight.
Discussion of heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson’s tremendous second-round KO of Miljan Rovcanin on the Pedraza-Commey undercard and his potential.
Discussion of heavyweight prospect Richard Torrez Jr.’s absolutely sick KO of Marco Antonio Canedo in just 44 seconds.
Breaking down the highly entertaining split draw between Pedraza and Commey in the main event.
Please give it a listen! Also: rate, review, subscribe and enjoy!
We will be bringing you the weekend recap each Monday. Let me know what you think of the podcast by leaving your comments.

This podcast is insidious. My wife and kids went out of town Saturday and Sunday, and when they got back, I told them we were in the recap mode coming off the weekend.
Having 9 to 3 for Canelo for the victory I wouldn’t say that GGG got blown out or he got his ass whooped. GGG has never been dropped so it should be a surprise to anyone that Canelo couldn’t get the stoppage. Canelo is arguably the top fighter in boxing so with GGG loss I wouldn’t say he should retire. I hope GGG continues , I feel he may have several good fights and hopefully good paydays ahead of him.
As far as Canelo stating he won’t face Ramirez because he’s Mexican is comical to me. Ramirez is a huge light heavy weight, Canelo would be foolish to take that fight and he knows it. If he thought he would win he would fight Ramirez in a minute even if Ramirez was from his same hometown in Mexico.
Ramirez will KO Bivol in my opinion.
