Random thoughts: Fury-Joshua implosion no surprise whatsoever and here's why
Joyce would excel in any era; enjoy this great time of heavyweights; Floyd exhibition was fun; last word on Canelo-GGG 3; Shakur's future; much more

A whole bunch of boxing random thoughts...
For a guy who has announced his retirement so often in recent months that I have lost track of how many times, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury sure is desperate to fight.
That said, I always thought it was a pipe dream that he would actually fight Anthony Joshua in December. Fights of that magnitude are not made on a whim in a couple of weeks. I wanted to believe it would happen but never really did and still have my doubts. I’ve been down this road too many times for proposed really big fights that didn’t happen for one reason or another.
So, now it seems that Fury will go from a mega fight with Joshua — albeit one not as big as it would have been when it was agreed to and supposed to be for the undisputed title in August 2021 before Fury was forced to honor his contract and face Deontay Wilder for a third time — to a highly uninteresting fight with Manuel Charr, whose claim to fame is being stopped in the final fight of Vitali Klitschko’s career.
The chances of Charr winning their now-proposed bout (for a fraction of the money for Fury compared to an AJ fight) or even competing are slim. The chances of the fight doing any real business or fans being interested, especially compared to the prospect of a Joshua fight, are also slim.
Fury spent so much time ranting and raving about fighting Joshua and badgering him in social media videos to sign the contract that he either forgot or purposely misled everyone when he never mentioned that there is a lot more that goes into making a mega fight than simply agreeing to the split, even if that is the biggest factor.
