So Mikey Garcia lost. Who cares? Make the fight with Regis Prograis anyway

How about some boxing random thoughts?

I watched as a seemingly lethargic and disinterested Mikey Garcia lost a close decision to obscure cutie southpaw Sandor Martin the other night on DAZN. Martin pecked and poked his way to victory. To Martin’s credit he did what he had to do to get the victory, but it was not an entertaining fight.

With Garcia losing the welterweight bout, it seemingly killed the chance for him to next fight a much bigger, much more meaningful, much more interesting and most likely a much, much more entertaining fight with fellow former junior welterweight titleholder Regis Prograis.

But I say, no, no, no!

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that they can’t still make Prograis-Garcia next. Where else is Garcia going? What other big fight is available to Prograis, who few seem to want to fight?

I explain why this fight should still proceed and give a notable precedent.
