Heavyweight contender Fabio Wardley wanted a homecoming fight and Queensberry Promotions promoter Frank Warren delivered for him, so even if the opponent is a different one than he originally signed for no problem.

Wardley was scheduled to face mouthy American Jarrell Miller and they went at it at their kickoff news conference — actually, it was really Miller who went into meltdown mode — but then Miller pulled out on April 30. He claimed a shoulder injury.

The choice of replacements came down to Filip Hrgovic and Justis Huni, both of whom accepted offers.

In the end, they went with Huni, who has traveled from his home country of Australia to the lion’s den to face Wardley for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title in the main event of the Queensberry Promotions card on Saturday (DAZN, 1:30 p.m. ET) at Portman Stadium in Wardley’s hometown of Ipswich, England.

“I think we are going to see a real, real battle between the two of them,” Warren said. “This is going to be boxing at its best. A stellar amateur background from Justis, who is undefeated as a pro. There is the spice of Queensberry versus Matchroom and, I promise you, you are not going to be disappointed.”

Wardley said he was unmoved by the switch from Miller to Huni.
