I acknowledge every reason against this. But I really like this fight. An old school HBO BAD type of fight. Huge career & financial fork in the road for both guys. I would love to see this on the big platform that is Cinco de Mayo weekend. BTW, contrast that with Vergil Ortiz. He keeps allowing himself and his handlers to hamstring his career. I actually favor Lamont. He was developed by GBP and wasn’t handed anything. Zepeda has been up and down. Zepeda can win with activity, takes rounds that way. Lamont doesn’t press the action enough sometimes. Needs to shake that “B Side opponent” mentality. Those recent draws weren’t completely unjustified. Interesting match up like you said.
I thought roach beat Cruz and should've beat Tank if the point was rightfully deducted. Looking back Herring defeating him easily was weird. I think that fight was outdoors at a baseball stadium... whatever, zepeda is tough and im looking forward to it. Wbc bs aside this is a very good fight and meaningful fight for division.
