I’m glad he went out like this. While, I’m sure he had a couple more great performances in him, father time is undefeated. In this case… Lomachenko got a narrow decision over even him.👏
One of my favourite fighters of the last 10-12 years. I wish him & Mikey Garcia could have duked it out, that would habe been a barnstormer at super feather/lightweight
I loved watching Lomachenko (The Matrix) fight. Definitely in my personal top 5 fighters of all time. While I will never argue with the results of his and his father’s training methods, I always wondered if the intensity of the training methods on top of fights led to the amount of injuries he sustained. I am glad to see him retire on top and while boxing retirements are sometimes comical, with the dedication and commitment he showed throughout his career, I feel like Loma’s retirement will stick.
I was at the the Linares-Lomachenko fight. Sitting a few rows behind our favorite boxing journalist. It was apparent that he was boxing above his natural weight, and he continued to do so very successfully for the rest of his career. He athleticism was unmatched. Glad he’s moving on with his life and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.
His 21 fight professional career, across 10 & a half years, has been an absolute pleasure to follow and watch
I am extremely honoured to have seen him live as an amateur & professional over the past 13 years, and naturally wish him all the best in retirement
In virtually every one of his 199 professional rounds, regardless of whether he necessarily won or lost that particular stanza, he showcased elements of boxing brilliance through his ring artistry & wizardry

Congratulations to Lomachenko. A credit to the sport that never sidestepped any challenges. Out of respect, I won't chose today to debate his career.
