Mario Barrios, motivated by the impending birth of his daughter, scored a knockdown, battled through a swollen eye, and won a unanimous decision over Fabian Maidana to retain the WBC interim welterweight title in the co-feature of the PBC on Prime PPV headlined by Canelo Alvarez-Jaime Munguia on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
Barrios won 116-111 on all three scorecards in his first defense of the vacant interim belt he won in September in the Alvarez-Jermell Charlo co-feature by one-sided decision over former titlist Yordenis Ugas, also at T-Mobile Arena.
