Beterbiev is awesome - an absolute no-nonsense fighter. The 2 most devastating punchers at their respective weight classes are Beterbiev and Inoue. If not Bivol next, surely Beterbiev has to fight Callum Smith or Ramirez?
Well said. This fight reminded me of the Inoue-Donaire fight in a few ways, too. Aside from both being 2 round blowouts, both Nonito and Joe came in in great shape and ready to go, performed well offensively, looked sharp in the opening minutes until… bang! The one punch from Inoue/Beterbiev that just changed everything. From there it was all guts from Nonito/Joe, as both kept slugging hoping for a prayer, but got finished by the better guy.
Beterbiev is inertia, an inevitability. He’s so strong and just ruins guys. Yarde will get rolled and by the. We should have some clarity on what’s going on with those other guys (Bivol, Smith, Zurdo, etc).
According to Frank Warren a Beterbiev vs Yarde fight has almost been signed and will take place in London probably in November - not the fight I was hoping for.
I suppose the WBC, WBO & IBF sanctions on Russian dwelling boxers stops any undisputed contest from happening and I don't see that changing while Russia is still advancing into Ukraine.
Putting aside the politics of boxing and the Politics of Politics with those involved in any upcoming boxing matches to me it is like this. Better earned the right to fight someone/anyone who may not be as big a name or challenge as could be made after such a difinitive win. But his last two fights were real one bloody and full of guts the other just massively exposing and destroying a decent fighter that I respect n expected to bring more to the fight then he did. But that is the fight game things always get changed up after the first bell rings and the talking and writing stops........
What a great night of fights and Beterbiev if he hadn't already cemented his place as the Light Heavyweight Champion Of The World and not just another crappy sanctioning body belt holder. I don't see Bivol beating him and i'll be surprised if that bout even happens as Bivol holds out for Canelo trying to avenge his one sided loss. I'll be shocked if Canelo goes anywhere near Beterbiev unless he does another Golovkin and lets him age some.

He didn’t just pummel Joe Smith, he has such next level boxing skills, AND He’s a monster. I’d like to see him in the pfp
