Laurence Cole one of the worst ref's in boxing called a halt against Takayama who I had ahead 6-2 in rounds. No reason for stoppage as he threw the last punch and the commentators and fans agreed to quick no reason stoppage.
You got that right Ken, Soto now has three calls that went his way 1st- Heno really won that bout 2nd Acosta in the 12th round then this Taka was throwing punches alive and well, come on man...... You get away with this stuff when no one is looking or willing to say anything. And dont want to hear, oh he would have lost anyhow, or it was just a matter of time.
I read somewhere Takayama’s corner had the ref stop the fight. Is that true? It would make more sense to me then what seemed like a arbitrary stoppage by the ref.
Did you see Taka' corner after the ref stopped the fight ? They were out of there heads with what happened to there fighter. It is what is wrong with the direction boxing is going in, IF you think the fighter might loose the fight lets stop it in advance. You don;t like the size differential don't sanction the fight I knew TAKA was really a 105er but they signed for a fight and once again they made sure Soto got a win with a K in it. I like Soto but he has faults......
Sky Sports is reporting that BJ Saunders had multiple fractures to his orbital socket and his corner wouldn’t let him continue.
“ "He couldn't see," Hearn told DAZN. "I spoke to [trainer] Mark Tibbs. He couldn't see and he wouldn't let him go out.”
I have to revise my post fight flogging of Saunders for not continuing. I think if I had a face full of broken bones and my corner was telling me they wouldn’t allow me to continue and Canelo Alvarez was across the ring and dead set on beating the shit out me, I would acquiesce just as quickly.
The only difference in judges scorecards was the 7th round where only one Judge (Tim) saw BJS winning it. Not bad.

Takayama was getting his ass kicked and was in no way ahead and I thought the stoppage was perfect.
