This fight should've been at the Raiders Stadium. Missed opportunity imho, just saying . Munguía has been trending up under the tutelage of Freddie Roach. Who's guided his pupils to some shocking upsets, more than once. Folks (including myself) thought Ricky Hatton was in over his head versus Kostya Tszyu. Pushing the pace will be the key for Munguía, just like it was for Hatton.

I'd argue holding/hitting and low blows also gave Hatton a lot of help. Not as bad as Salido/loma because Hatton made weight but that ref let Kostya get mugged.

He definitely roughed him up. But I think Kostya Tszyu retired immediately for a reason. Just like DLH. And Loma only functions in pretty Olympic Style Boxing. Remember when he wanted the Commey fight stopped because he was styling so hard on him? LOL

I miss Kostya and that rat tail. Was it shoulder issues? I remember Sharmba Mitchell made a career off Kostya. They had that fight where Mitchell looked just okay against Kostya but his knee went out. From there on out Mitchell ran a campaign of he would've won if not for his knee. Claimed Kostya was ducking the rematch. He stringed together a bunch of wins grabbed the ibf belt finally got the Kostya rematch and got destroyed lol

Kostya Tszyu was great. Unfortunately some folks try to create fantastical narratives around fighters that none can really live up to. Instead of walking them back a bit. They resort to finger pointing and excuses.

Thought I read he was gonna be stripped of 1 his alphabelts for refusing mandatory David Benavidez?

Team Benavidez never formally petitioned to have their mandatory enforced. Or demanded to be included in PBC's original 3 fight deal with Canleo. Now moving up to 175.

Wouldn’t the ORDER to face your mandatory come from the respective organization and if refused the fighter @ #2 be offfered the opportunity to fight for the title?

diva or not

I think the wbc placated Benavidez to stay quiet. If I'm not mistaken his 175 pound fight is for the interim wbc 175 pound strap.

I think it’s a game that Team Benavidez has played for a very long time. Sampson Lewqiwicz is on record that he proudly marinated the Caleb Plant fight for years. How many big fights has PBC either marinated to death or just flat out skipped? SPOILER ALERT! Benavidez is never coming back down to 168. He’s already calling out Zurdo Ramirez at Cruiserweight. Not the winner of Bivol/Beterbiev. Have you not noticed a pattern by now? One last thing that no one can deny. Benavidez already would’ve got the Canelo fight, had he not been stripped TWICE!
