So PPV is not dead anymore ? Thanks to Eddie it has been brought back to boxing how nice of him to breath life into a dead and outdated part of American Boxing. Saul got himself more free promotional favors from Eddie and DAZN then any Fighter could have asked for in the past four years. I am sure that DAZN and the gang would pay all of his expenses for drug testing 24/7/365 also because Eddie wants Boxing to succeed no matter the cost. For the love of the Sport, right.

Although I wanted to see Canelo fight Beterbiev the fight with Bivol is a perfectly acceptable fight. However the proposed September fight with Golovkin is not - imho it is set up for Canelo to get the only valid win over the old Kazak who is 40 in April.

The WBC gave VADA $150K last year for the WBC CBP and Margaret Goodman (VADA) claims that there is over 600 boxers on the program now and each VADA test (1 VADA sample = 1 blood + 1 urine sample) costs over $1K.

From this it is easy to see that it's impossible for the WBC CBP to cover the amount of testing it would require to test top boxers such as Canelo adequately.

Although a year round VADA contract doesn't guarantee a fighter is PED free (there isn't a test for every PED) it's the best we currently have and imo shows a fighter is serious about showing they are clean.

If Donaire, Joshua, Whyte, and Katie Taylor can all afford year round VADA contracts then the richest boxer in the sport, Canelo, can certainly afford it.

However Canelo refused to continue with a year round VADA contract after his WBC "penalty" year following his clenbuterol failures.

Therefore there is no valid excuse for Canelo not to have been on a 365 x 24/7 VADA contract for several years - which is why I'm extremely suspicious of him.
