The French judges at the Yoka vs Bakole fight did their best to give Yoka every chance of pulling off the win. Thankfully they didn't go through with robbing Bakole but their scores were still a disgrace. Martin totally dominated Yoka and deserved to win by a huge margin.
Ennis is a monster with solid boxing skills and powder kegs in his gloves. He’s the guy no belt holder is going to want any part of I’m afraid. Someone is going to have to force the issue.
out and I think until about the seventh round they were dead even. Charlo seemed to be just starting to really get the upper hand and then, BAM!!, it was over in a blink of an eye!
Great to see an undisputed champ.
Castano is a total badass. I hope he gets some more good hi profile fights, his stock goes up in my book. Very very solid and skilled fighter
that Bakole fight was about as one-sided as it gets, and all three judges are corrupt, even the 96-92 suggests Yoka won 4 rounds, which is horseshit. It was such a thorough victory that even their homerism couldn't prevail. A little like the Bivol-Canelo judges giving Cinnamon any round they could justify (and those they couldn't), but more egregious, and yet, thankfully, the right guy wins so the judging goes without much outrage.
Our sport has lots (and lots) of issues, but the sanctioning body bandits and these incompetent or for-hire judges definitely top the list.
Props to Bakole for a great performance and taking matters into his own hands ever round.
Congratulations on a successful defence by the world champion against his number one contender. I gather some corrupt sanctioning body belts were on the line too, but who cares about that. Is there much left for Charlo at 154 and would moving to 160 be awkward because of his brother?
No, because he isn't fighting his brother. But that was not what my original comment was about. It was about that being undisputed and winning all four belts is a big fucking deal.
You submit to the authority of the corrupt sanctioning bodies and I don’t. Given your admirable work regarding the #WretchedWBA I would have thought you’d be leading the charge towards the post-belt era but it seems not. Boxing News, a publication you have guest written for, no longer recognise the belts so it’s not like I’m taking an outlier position.
I think the sanctioning bodies are suspect at best, but Dan is not “submitting” to them. He doesn’t work for them. He’s always called it as he’s seen it. It’s a small world, You don’t shit where you eat.

Your comment makes no sense.
You don’t think it will be awkward for Jermell to move to 160?
No, because he isn't fighting his brother. But that was not what my original comment was about. It was about that being undisputed and winning all four belts is a big fucking deal.

I would also add that to those fighters the hardware means a helluva lot. Don’t sit up in the cheap seats and throw darts.
