The WBO on Wednesday ordered welterweight world titlist Terence Crawford to next make a mandatory defense against Shawn Porter, which — if the fight is made — will finally give Crawford a chance to square off with a top 147-pound opponent. In a letter the WBO sent to Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Crawford’s promoter, and TGB Promotions president Tom Brown, who represents Porter, the sanctioning body said they have 30 days to negotiate an agreement.
