Really well written article and a deep dive into the murky waters of the business of boxing.

Crawford represents the brass ring for Spence, but he also represents the very real possibility of an ass kicking, so, strictly from a business point of view,I don’t really blame Spence for being circumspect, and for Haymond, the possibility of tarnishing his shiny penny.

Better he take several fights he’s sure he’ll win than risk it against Crawford, right? Good business sense, I guess. Not so great for his reputation as a champion though. The true champions take on these sorts of challenges because it’s in their nature.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the details and writing this all up! I wanted to know what Crawford had to say but also was not very eager to watch the video.

I am supposed to care ? Give me a break what a waste of time to go back and try to understand why someone did not do what he did not do. This is the part of boxing that dont matter, do people really care ? Is this now entertainment tonight ? Sound like it. Seems to be what happens when you pay people so much money they think there lives are so important we all want to know every little detail of there life, I dont and most people dont. Most people are not aware that boxing still exists in any form on any platform these days. But once again this is what boxing fans are supposed to discuss ? Not the nature of boxing, not the action in the ring, just this stuff........ Get real man.......

This is cheap, this is publicity for certain fighters who wont fight for a real fight but love the money. Money can do a lot of good in a lot of ways for a lot of people.......But there is nothing that money can not ruin, given enough of it. Here is just one example of over paid people that think they and what they have to say is important. Ignore the man, ignore the useless fight he want to dip into your pockets is all. Self promotion never looked and sounded so obvious. Come on man.......
