Rather than being next in the "rotation", it seems the IBF lost patience with the WBC and WBA's refusal to call their mandatories with them instead providing inducements to Benavidez and Morrell to move up a division. Scull, Berlanga, it's all the same to me - substandard fights to keep the Canelo gravy train rolling. Watching some rich guy collect more money holds no interest to me.

if only the IBF ratings had anything to do with reality. Of course the only sanctioning body in boxing with a thread of credibility has to be the one that routinely puts out hot garbage for mandatory's.

Serious Question, because I do respect his talent. But has any "All Time Great" Boxer in history, had an easier route to that accolade than Bud Crawford? They're just tossing belts at him now smh. Any other Boxer (Tank, Haney being recent examples) would be getting a ton of grief. HE Turki has warped Boxing for the better and now for the worse as well. Isaac Newton proven correct once more.

A lot of the "GWOAT" title wins were for vacant belts (Shields). Bud had to go on the road and beat burns (an underrated fighter) for his first belt. His first unified title fight was with undefeated Postol and of course the Spence demolition. I feel like he's finally getting the respect he deserves now after being overlooked for so long.

I respect your opinion. But I think those victories will eventually be placed in their proper context. The Spence demolition is comparable to Cotto/Margarito 2. Ya Cotto got his "Revenge". But versus the one eyed corpse of Margarito. Postol doesn't even rate historically. And will be only remembered by the hardcores as a tough cookie. But nothing special. Madrimov more of the same btw. The whole undisputed run at 140 was a marketing necessity from Top Rank. Just an attempt to camouflage his uninspiring opponents.Similar to GGG's "#AlltheBelts" that fell by the wayside, when a Canelo rematch was threatened by IBF mando Derevyanchenko.

True. But I believe we're probably splitting hairs. Maybe I'm mistaken but I think we both agree bud is 1st ballot HOFer. Whether he's a generational talent is where we might disagree... but when folks agree your basement is HOFer you had a pretty great run.
