Thanks for the update Dan!

But it is hard to be optimistic with so many factors besides "the contracts". Just to name a few, both fighters need to;

- win their interim bouts (likely to happen);

- not get injured or cut during the interim bouts;

- not get injured in camp leading up to fighting each other;

...oh! Davis needs to not go to jail also!

Can’t wait to see the sanctioning bandits tripping over themselves to make some vacant-interim-regular-catchweight super championship available for the big fight!

Sure hope this gets over the finish line…

Great, lets get it done and also get Crawford and Spence to force their promoters to get their fight match up done. Too often fighters hide behind their promoters and management after all when they get that big commercially they work for the boxer not the other way round.

It seems that both sides have made a big concession each to get the fight made: PBC doing the production but sharing the PPV with DAZN, and Garcia allowing a 136lb catchweight.

However imo Garcia has given up too much weight - he found 135 too hard to make in his last two fights where he came in at 138.75 and 140.

I thought Golden Boy would point out that Tank has already fought at 140lbs, when he beat Barrios, and make the catchweight closer to 140, say 137 or 138.

Consequently imo the agreed 136lb catchweight is a victory for Team PBC and an advantage for Tank.

That said BOTH tune-up fights and/or Tank's court case in February could easily pull the plug on the fight yet though. Not holding my breath on this one.

Let's hope it happens.

Curious about the catchweight. Does this mean none of the sanctioning bodies can claim a percentage [Boxingjim refers to this below]?

Great news that Showtime will do the production. They're not perfect, but far better than Dazn.
