First live fight I ever attend was Hagler versus Kevin Finnegan at the Boston Garden in 1978. My dad took me for my 11th birthday and I have been a fight freak ever since. RIP champ.
I found out about this when Michael Buffer announced it before last night's main event. Even though I was at home I rose in homage for the full ten count. Marvelous was one of the absolute all-time greats.
Hagler-Hearns was the fight that made me a fight freak for life! I was a senior in High School & my father attended this fight. I have the issue of Playboy Magazine featuring the story to the lead-up, I think it was titled "Hagler & Hearns Mouth Off Ahead of the Fight".
