After Devin Haney won the WBC junior welterweight title with a masterpiece against Regis Prograis — a 120-107 shutout, including a third-round knockdown, on all three scorecards — on Saturday night in a DAZN PPV main event his birth city of San Francisco, it opened the possibility of several interesting fights at 140 pounds.
Junior welterweight just might be the best, deepest, most interesting division in boxing right now. Haney is now in the middle of it all as the former undisputed lightweight champion moved up in weight and immediately put himself at the forefront of the division with the best performance of his career.
I’m have put together a list of the top opponents, in order, that I am most interested in seeing Haney fight and why — as well my view on whether they are likely to happen.
