The first 3 fights with Rafael Marquez form one of the best trilogies of all time. People are almost on default when they blurt out Ward v Gatti but the voilence and sheer heart in these 3 fights surpassed the Gatti v Ward trilogy. I hope that Vasquez unfortunate passing will bring these fights to more people's attention
I was fortunate to see Vazquez fight in person twice, but even more special, to stand on the ring apron as he and Manny Pacquiao sparred at the Wild Card. It was an incredible experience (duh) made more special by the fact that Vazquez was one of my favorite fighters and Pac was becoming my favorite.
I just saw the second fight for the first time what a fight
Rest Easy Champion 💙

What a great fighter. The Vasquez-Marquez trilogy was what turned me from a casual into a hardcore. RIP.
Rest in Peace Champ🤍🕊️🤍

What a legacy Vazquez leaves behind.
Mid to late 2000's Showtime Boxing was glorious. And Israel Vazquez was foundational. Que en paz descanse, Campeón 🙏
