Thanks for the write up, hope to get the straight dope on the inside the ring action. The thing with boxing is you can not see much less experience a boxing match on TV the way you can live. That said Dan looking forward to the angels that we have been missing without boxing writers in the stands. I stress this bc of how announcing has become slanted buddy buddy talk and we need the eyes of a fight freak describing the fight not hyping subs or whatever. But enjoy it you sound fired up right now.

Really hope BJS pulls this off and beats him. Need a KO to get a draw over there though

True decated boxing fans know who wins fights. Canon lost both fights to GGG and Lara. Pacman dusted Bradly. Whittaker beat Hoya and Chavez. The listt of mine goes on and on. But at this point Canelos team know they are fighting a nan tonight with massive lay off. So this is why he will win. Duran Leonard 2. They knew to get the fight signed quick. Duran was 200 pounds when he signed. I simply want to see Canelo fight a prime fighter in total shape in his weight class. Canelo had GGG wait 2 years until they fought. Which made GGG 34 at their 1st fight. And he still lost. So my respect for Canelo is still low. But I still like him. But he needs to fight a prime fighter at his weight. Period.

Both fights with GGG were close. There’s no one here his skill lever Beterbiev would be awesome but why would he do that???

First GGG fight not close. GGG easily was 4 rounds up or 5. 2nd fight. Canelo took a beating in2nd half.. Even though having a good 12th. And the big names Canelo beat were smaller than him. GGG at 32 would have KOd Canelo. Beterbiev. Powerful but not as skilled as Canelo.

I saw them as close. They were great fights either way you saw it. Neither fighter conceded an inch and both felt like they were the clear winner after both.

Will be an amazing atmosphere, enjoy the fight Dan! I have Canelo by decision in a fight that he should control.

As usual a wealth of info in here. This is the best boxing info source on the planet!!

Saunders could have a 52 x 52’ ring, Canelo will catch up with him, hurt him to the body and end the fight inside of twelve. This is boxing, anything can happen, but that’s the way I bet it

Mr. Rafael, great writing as always. Thank you.

I still believe that Canelo needs to fight better opposition. Canelo is too strong for this kid tonight. And too fight GGG at super middle would be too much for GGG being 39. GGG at this point is too slow, even at 160, he has fallen off too much. Be that as it may, it will be entertaining tonight. Saunders simply does not have the power too keep Canelo off him.

Who does? GGG 6 years ago maybe.

I totally agree with you on the fight programs, they are an awesome keepsake and an important part of a big match. Sometimes the boxing program I bought was more entertaining than some of the bouts! First most of the tickets went digital...so no ticket stub to keep as a souvenir. And now a lot of sports teams have eliminated printed programs and media guides in favor of “digital flip books”. I had a friend who recently saw a no-hitter...and has nothing but a dumb screenshot of his digital ticket to remember that night! Call me old school, but give us fans something to hold on to!
