I don't rate Ortiz or Martin. I don't think old man Ortiz stands a chance against the likes of Joshua, Fury or Usyk and even the likes of Ruiz, Hrgovic etc., would probably be too much for him.
Hammer had 4 days notice for the Sanchez fight and was coming off a bicep injury two months ago against Hughie Fury and so shouldn't have been able to go 12 rounds with Sanchez.
I'm not sure whether Hammer and Sanchez agreed to go through the motions before the fight or whether Sanchez really couldn't stop Hammer.
If it's the latter then Sanchez will have big problems at proper world level.
Ortiz is old and certainly looked vulnerable last night. But he is highly skilled and can crack. I give him a decent chance against Joshua and Usyk. Not so sure about Fury, too durable and big. He was a punch away from finishing Wilder, of course Walder was one punch away from getting ko’ed in about 20 of his last thirty rounds : )
Not surprisingly I disagree Stuart :-) mainly as I think Ortiz has always been over-rated.
His performances in Europe against Malik Scott and Dave Allen (Dave's 12th fight) highlighted his limitations.
The Scott "fight" should have been classed as a marathon there was so much running in it - Ortiz clearly had no idea how to cut the ring off, so Scott's running went on for 12 looong boring rounds - making it one of the worst so-called fights I've ever seen.
Ortiz only stopped Dave Allen, who took the fight on pretty short notice, because Dave suddenly gassed in the 5th and was eventually TKOd in the 7th - however Dave was more than holding his own for 4 or 5 rounds.
Even if Dave had a full training camp he wouldn't have been able to do that against Fury or Joshua.
I was ringside and everyone was very unimpressed with Ortiz - that included Eddie Hearn who didn't give Ortiz a Matchroom contract off the back of those two poor performances.
As for Ortiz's performances against Wilder - it doesn't take much to out-box Wilder, that's a pretty low bar. Wilder is a one-trick pony who seems lost if he can't land his big right. Fury, Joshua & Usyk have much better boxing skills than Wilder and I would say they also have better skills than Ortiz - although you're probably not going to agree.
If we look at Ortiz's resume he has only fought one world level heavyweight (Wilder), and lost twice, he has no wins over what most fans regard as world level opposition.
Clearly I don't rate Martin as a world level boxer but of course it was a good win for Luis all the same.
IMO Luis is too slow and vulnerable at 60 ;-) to beat the current top 3 heavyweights and if I was his manager I'd keep him away from the likes of Hrgovic and Ruiz too.
I didn’t see either of those two performances. I just went through his record and I didn’t see anyone of note, at least not in the last 8 years. I guess I was taken in by the hype. Anyway I wouldn’t mind seeing the fight’s. He would be a guy with “a punchers chance” against most I guess.
I think Martin thought he was in line for the Spiderman movie after Ortiz hit him the first time in the 6th! A little bad blood after the fight, glad to see Martin man up and congratulate Ortiz before they left the ring.

I would have bought this package if it were on tonight, but there was too much sports competition last night
